Having some fun eco-dying, with plant matter from around the garden. All you have to do is gather some leaves, flowers, fresh foods – anything natural – wrap them up in material and steam for an hour or two. The steam leaches the colour from the plant matter, naturally printing the material in surprising and spontaneous patterns and colours. This is such a simple, non-toxic dying technique, which helps you to slow down and reconnect to the earth 🌱
On Wed 8 March at 11am we’ve been invited by the Devonport Council to come along and teach parents and kids how to use nature to create your own art and craft, as part of their Living Lightly Series. I’ll be teaching this natural eco-dying technique, along with making your own paint, glue, paintbrushes, and more! This 1 hour workshop will be held at Devonport Playhouse (crn Charlies & Forbes Street, Devonport) and is only $2 per person.
