My travelling essentials

When travelling light…these are the magic drops I bring with me. They’ve all come in handy so far on our trip in sunny Townsville, in more ways than one!

Frankincense: I love Frank for it’s grounding, calming qualities – it can get pretty hectic when you’re holidaying with kids! This ancient oil has also helped calm my crying babies, when nothing else could. I call it my miracle oil! Frankincense has also come in handy for helping soothe my husband’s wound on his thigh from recent surgery. After spending the day on his feet, his wound gets pretty sore and inflamed. A couple of drops of the oil immediately soothes the pain – as well as helps with the scarring!

Clary Sage: Oh Clary, you are my star. I wouldn’t go anywhere without Ms Clary for female hormonal support. This lass helps me to stay balanced. I also love her earthy smell, and sprinkle it all over me as the best natural perfume.

Lavender: The all-rounder, we have used lavender to repel mozzies in the evening, soothe bug bites, and to clean any nasty microbes off our hands before eating lunch. I also used it on Poppy the first day we arrived when she was listless and complaining of a headache. A couple of minutes later after applying lavender to her forehead and she was off and running around like her crazy normal self!

Peppermint: My absolute I-can-not-live-without! I seem to pretty much always pick up a bug when I go travelling, so I knew I’d need peppermint. Sure enough, a few days ago I started getting a sore throat and an aching neck. After using just three drops a day of peppermint for two days, I kicked the bug without it eventuating to anything debilitating!

Slique: This is a bit of a random one. When I was packing, Poppy was helping me choose oils. This is one that she picked, and while I don’t use it much, I decided to take it as kids under 8 years have a special intuition about oils we need. Slique is designed to decrease appetite and aid in weight loss. Maybe I needed it to suppress my appetite with all these yummy holiday foods?!?! Haha. At the very least, it’s been an awesome pick-me-up with it’s uplifting citrusy aroma.

Clarity: I always need more clarity (haha) and plus I am just in love with anything with basil in it. Just delicious!

The only oil I didn’t bring which I wish I had is lemon. Such an awesome oil to help soothe heartburn, and a strong antimicrobial. If you’d like to try the same therapeutic-grade essential oils that I use in all my workshops, products and on our family to help with health issues, feel free to get in touch! This month and next, you could even win a car when you sign up with us 😉
