I absolutely love getting out in nature. It doesn’t matter if it’s the bush, the mountains, the beach or wide-open paddocks, there is something special and invigorating and releasing about being in nature.

After listening to this most eye-opening podcast featuring Dr Libby Darnell on the harmful effects of Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) I understood yet another reason why reconnecting with the earth can have such healing benefits. Dr Libby lost her 7yo niece to a brain tumour in two months, after high exposure to EMFs  in her home and school, and Dr Libby also experienced debilitating health issues from over-sensitivity to EMFs. In the beginning of the podcast, Dr Libby explains that the first thing she did to try and heal her body from EMFs was to get ‘grounded’. She stripped herself naked to her bra and undies and ran outside and buried her near-naked body in the ground (which just so happened to be covered in snow!). Immediately she felt a release of all that built-up debilitating excess energy.

This rang true to me. I feel I can be quite sensitive to EMFs. It makes me tense, cranky, irritable, and wired. I can even notice my throat and ears getting sore sometimes. And it frightens me to think of the internal cellular damage it may be doing inside my body. But getting out in nature, switching my phone off, walking bare-foot, touching the grass and trunks and leaves, causes an immediate release of all that built up energy. Jumping into the ocean has an even greater effect!

I would URGE you – everyone! – to take an hour out of your day to listen to this podcast. EMFs are so prevalent in our modern lives. While technology can be an absolute blessing, it can also be a most destructive curse, including to our health.

Dr Libby also provides us with some very simple ways of reducing your exposure to EMFs, including turning your WIFI off at night (or during the day when not in use), installing outlet filters in your home and workplace to reduce dirty electricity, and getting rid of Xbox’s (or at least unplugging them when not in use) – apparently Xbox’s generate the most dirty electricity of all appliances! Then there are some simple ways of releasing excess energy from your body, such as ‘grounding’ in nature, epsom salt baths, and very simply standing on a piece of aluminium foil for a couple of minutes to draw out excess energy from your body.
