Oh the humble egg! Yesterday was the start of the reintroduction phase of my elimination plan, and I decided to start with eggs. I’d been missing them the last couple of weeks – they’re an easy breakfast, and I love to snack on a boiled egg every now and then. Although eggs are a common allergen or intolerant food (especially for those with leaky gut), I seriously did not think I’d have any issues with them, and was keen to get them back in my diet.
Yesterday I had 2 eggs for breakfast and lunch, and then again this morning for breakfast. I did notice mild symptoms of reflux, low mood and a small breakout of pimples. I wasn’t sure if it was just coincidence, so wasn’t sold (yet) that eggs were a reactive food for me…
That is until today when I almost passed out from pain in the gut, which ended with me on the toilet for the next few hours!!! I guess eggs are off the list for awhile until I heal my adrenals and inflamed and leaky gut. Bring on the next few months of repair!
